As a Registered Practical Nurse with a passion for both health and aesthetic medicine, I’ve had the privilege of training with world-renowned doctors and plastic surgeons across five different countries. I’ve also had the honor of teaching other nurses and physicians the very principles I practice every day.
One of the most common questions I hear from clients—and students—is, “How do I find a good injector?” It’s a question that gets to the heart of aesthetic medicine: the balance between achieving a result you love and ensuring your safety.
The truth is, aesthetic injections are both an art and a medical procedure. The goal shouldn’t be to change your face, but to enhance your natural beauty and help you look refreshed and confident. Here is my personal guide to finding an injector who shares that philosophy and prioritizes your well-being.
1. Look Beyond the Before-and-After Photos
Before-and-after photos are a great starting point, but they don’t tell the whole story. While a dramatic transformation might seem impressive, I believe the best results are often so subtle that you look rested and revitalized, not “done.”
When reviewing a provider’s portfolio, look for consistency. Do their clients’ results look natural and harmonious? Pay attention to the details—the smoothness of the skin, the softness of the lines, and the overall balance of the face. The best injectors don’t just fill wrinkles; they understand facial anatomy and how different treatments work together to create a cohesive result.
2. Prioritize Credentials and Training
This is where my clinical background really comes into play. Aesthetic medicine is a fast-evolving field, and proper training is non-negotiable.
- Who are they? Find out if your potential injector is a licensed medical professional, such as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Physician Assistant (PA), or a Medical Doctor (MD). These credentials signify a foundation in medical training, anatomy, and patient safety.
- Where did they train? Look for injectors who have received advanced, hands-on training from accredited institutions or reputable trainers. As an educator myself, I know the importance of a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest techniques and safety protocols.
- Do they work in a reputable clinic? A reputable clinic will have strict safety standards, sterile environments, and a clear protocol for handling complications. This level of oversight is a crucial layer of protection for you as the patient.
3. The Consultation: Your Most Important Step
A good consultation is less about making a quick sale and more about building a trusting relationship.
- Do they listen? A great injector will spend time asking you about your goals, your concerns, and your lifestyle. They should be more interested in understanding what you want than in telling you what you need.
- Do they educate? Your injector should be able to explain the procedure, the products they use, and the potential risks and benefits in a way that you can understand. They should empower you with knowledge so you can make an informed decision.
- Do they have a safety plan? It’s vital to know that your injector has a plan for managing potential complications, even if they are rare. Don’t be afraid to ask about this—their answer will tell you a lot about their commitment to patient safety.
4. Trust Your Gut
Ultimately, finding the right injector is a deeply personal choice. If a clinic feels rushed, if the prices seem too good to be true, or if you feel pressured into a decision, it’s a red flag. Your aesthetic journey should be a collaborative one, guided by a professional who prioritizes your safety and empowers you to make choices that align with your health and aesthetic goals—inside and out.
At Evolution Rejuvenation, my commitment is to safety, precision, and patient-centered care. I believe in helping you achieve natural-looking results that make you feel like the best version of yourself.
